To all dog beach supporters

The commission hearing, to make the dog beach permanent has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 at 1:30 P.M. This meeting will be held at City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Blvd. We ask that you attend in support.

As many of you know, we have encountered some resistance, mainly from North Beach residents. We are hopeful that with the proven success record of the dog beach trial period, some of those objections will be reduced. DBOH will be utilizing part of the money raised from the Wine Tasting events, to address some of their concerns. Bag dispensers, waste cans & signs will be donated & installed on Surf Road to encourage all dog owners to pick up after their dogs. This is a section that seems to be neglected, so we want to extend our efforts & begin a campaign to educate & encourage all dog  & non dog owners to stop littering.

REMINDER
Come out and enjoy a social event with fellow dog beach supporters. We will be having a potluck BBQ at Holland Park, 801 Johnson Street (Johnson/Intercoastal) on Saturday, March 29 at 5:00-8:00 P.M. Upcoming plans for DBOH will be discussed. . Vote on the design for the new DBOH t-shirt designed by local artist Jacklyn LaFlamme.   Andrea Shaw will be presenting a proposal, to allow volunteers to bring shelter dogs to the dog beach. Lastly we want to inform you that the dog Beach hours have changed to 5:00 – 9:00 P.M (daylight saving time)
